User Info: DemonReacher. Thats insane to do that normally. In fact if you arent trying its like impossible unless you fell asleep or something I left my PS3 on all night when going for chicken rank and only just went over it. I don't remember being in any race. I waited a year and a half to get a PS3 just to play this beauty of a game so when it came time to play I took my time and enjoyed every second of it.

Maybe this game didn't need to exist, maybe my suspension disbelief is high, but the fact is that it exists and you would be a fool to ignore the ambition, the plenty of content and things to talk about, and big ideas.
It's the chaotic mess that made this series so special. Kojima is a genius game creator and he likes to play with us normal people who just buy and play games, but some of the moments in the game are way too silly, too embarrassing to want to watch again during the second playthrough. Graphics are amazing, story is good, gameplay is good. Immer noch gut zu spielen und auch Optisch gut gealtert. Epic story and characters combined with sadly weak gameplay, but it's wonderful conclusion to the Metal Gear Saga.
It's just fucking epic! But has tons of mistakes, though. Just Wow. The rest of the game is awesome. I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did, but wow was it a great game. I do agree with some other reviewers that the game is a bit short, but only if you skip the cut-scenes. However, it doesn't fail to meet the expectations of a great Metal Gear Solid game. This is joining my other favorite games on the top shelf.
Less stealth than previous titles but has that unique MGS game play. Only negative is that the cut scenes can drag on a bit and some seem to be unnaturally long. Other than that great game!
MGS4 certainly does not live up to the legacy of Snake Eater but does manage to be compelling despite its terribly told narrative. It is also a more fluid adaptation of MGS3's more complicated controls that largely accomplish the same depth, even if the world may technically be less interactive.
I came away with more positive feelings than negative by the end, but this is a fan-centric game that lost me a lot of the time. It's basically impossible to recommend this to anyone who is not already a Metal Gear fan. The cut scenes were convoluted most of the time and quite unnecessary. It took away more than it added to the game, I really hope the fifth one is different from this. It was nice seeing the loose ends all tied up.
Definitely the least amount of stealth out of any of the MGS games I've played so far, but the characters and story arcs makes this game definitely feel like a conclusion to the franchise as a whole.
The gameplay has a lot more action, and I honestly didn't like it as much as the previous three games. But I still enjoyed it very much and is a fitting end to mainline games. The story and cinematics are top notch. Stealth in this game is pretty fun because you get to hide in small spaces, very immersive. This game has almost as much cut scenes as game play. So, the story is also pretty good.
The ending was also a satisfying way to end Snake's story. He's also a mediocre movie director at best. And yet Kojima's an excellent game designer. The problem I always have with Kojima's games as a result, is I super enjoy playing them I personally believe Hideo Kojima is a haughty arrogant person, but not an untalented one.
The trouble is, Kojima really obviously wants to be a Hollywood drama-action writer and director. If you look at his oeuvre closely, this becomes increasingly clear. Unfortunately for Kojima he is simply not a good enough writer or film director to actually pull that off. Any serious movie producer or film studio, would recognize that instantly. But in the world of video games, this ambition made him a big fish in a small pond In the world of video games, a far reaching plot and film-like cutscenes were invigorating for the medium in , via Metal Gear Solid.
But ten years later in , with MGS4 Hideo had taken those once-rewarding ambitions to such a farcical extreme, that he'd become a parody of himself. And then you're back to that sweet sweet MGS gameplay, which we all enjoy so very much. So regarding the gameplay itself, taking down droves of soldiers, creepy girl cyborg bosses, menacing mechs with sexy chicken legs, while thoroughly exploring rewarding environments The solid gameplay, in tandem with excellent graphics, and an ever pervasive sense of quirky humor Good multiplayer.
Already played through it however that was in a very rushed way and I would like to play through it using cheats aswell and I would just generally like to play through it a few times anyway.
Just looks like a lot of fun and quite unique. Looks like the type of game I could play for a long time and I dont mind the high difficulty it has. I finished the game at 4 hours and 50 minutes skipping all the cutscenes. If you timed all the cutscenes it's about 10 hours. You can get through it pretty quickly if you're skipping stuff and know what you're doing. I still think it's something that's worth owning. I beat it in 23 hours.
If you rush through then you can beat in less than 10 hours. I Took my time with it though. Shop around a bit more dude. It's about 9 hours of cutscenes, 6 hours of gameplay. Yesterday was my first time beating it, and I was really satisfied with it.
In fact, I played the entire series over the span of two months for the first time, and I felt that 4 wrapped up the story quite well. But really, you should take your time with it. There is so much to do in that game. I spent over 3 hours in one map just playing around, fucking with the guards and testing out the weapons.
I guess the only complaint I have is that the game is too easy, as I didn't even have to retry a single boss fight. Dude, MGS4 is just friggin awesome. It's easily the best playing Metal Gear game, and it's when the series finally started to play better than any Splinter Cell game. Sure there's lots of cutscenes, but they're crazy and fun too.
Stop quantifying the quality of a game by how long it lasts. If that's all that matters to you pick up World of Warcraft and only ever play that. The game should take you about hours, with a lot of exploring you might end up with 19 hours as a friend of mine did,so I think it may take 3 to 4 days maximum since you are an MGS vet. However, skipping scenes will cut alot of time but i don't recommend to do it bec.
