I just use thieving potions for the TotSC areas since the potions have very long durations and won't expire unless you abuse resting.

She does fail sometimes, but not as often as you would think. Again if you load her up with thieving potions, she can still be a good. I can set my lock pick skill larger than point? What is it mean? User Info: atakdoug. Nah, it just means you have that many points. If you have points in locks, you can open every lock that requires points or less, and nothing else.

Last edited: Jul 12, Keneth , Jul 12, I don't think you need to plan anything. You'll have more than enough points for whatever you need either way. The last thing you need is worrying about a few stray skill points. Eyebreaker7 likes this. What is worth pocketing? I know there's the ring of regen on Ribald but what else? Eyebreaker7 , Nov 9, Extra regen, sure, but still nothing that would save you in a fight.

Aside from that, perhaps the AC bonuses stack? I would really only put more than towards them if I was playing a shadowdancer and even then there are lots of other ways in the game to make yourself invisible. Unfortunately at a certain point any thief in this game will get to a point where its like "what the heck do I do with my thief points" because you just keep getting them even when they become basically pointless.

Also there are so many Potions of Mind Focusing there are at least 24 in total that you can buy from temples alone , Potions of Perception, and Potions of Master Thievery in the game. These potions will all give a benefit to at least some of your thieving skills. So even if you do find you need more than in Open Locks or another skill there are so many potions in the game that can give you a boost that it shouldn't be an issue.

Okay, I just remember back in high school I would use potions or whatnot to up Pickpocket so I could steal real expensive scrolls and perhaps jewelery items from store and have my mages learn those spells in the Throne of Bhaal merchants. I am mainly wondering since I never bother going "sneaky" with my theif characters, I just use them for de-trapping and opening locks and then ranged help in most cases.

I just don't want to find myself suddenly short on some chests or traps in the very dangerous environment of Throne of Bhaal We've had a lot of discussion about this issue over at the BG:EE forums. People including myself have been testing various myths about thieving skills.

Here's what I recommend: Open Locks: Find Traps: I remember just about a handful of locks and traps in the game that require more than , and almost all can just be bypassed.

For the rest, use a potion or just ignore it. Find Traps may refer to: Find Traps skill — a thief 's or monk 's ability to reveal traps Find Traps spell — a priest spell with a similar functionality This is a disambiguation page: a list of articles associated with the same title.
