In addition, Basha and her colleagues developed a ballot initiative, Proposition , to generate tax funds to establish a comprehensive system of early childhood development and health. The proposition was approved in by a wide margin and ensured, for the first time in Arizona, that substantial funds would be available to address the chronic and serious challenges facing Arizona's youngest residents.
She served as its chairwoman for two years, and currently remains a member of its board.
